Thomas Tuchel Questions Wembley Fan Atmosphere Despite Emphatic Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel expressed his regret that the Three Lions team did not enjoy stronger encouragement from the home crowd during their impressive triumph over Wales on Thursday night.

Tuchel was satisfied to see his squad showcase their strong performance, with strikes from Rogers, Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the first 20 minutes effectively ending the game. But, he was displeased with the atmosphere at the national stadium.

“With limited sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we excelled,” Tuchel stated. “We could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We missed the additional goals. It was quiet. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you give in 20 minutes? We prevented them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s disappointing because the squad earned greater backing today.”

“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a derby. I hoped for a greater support in moments where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was excessive support for Wales. It could have helped us to recharge, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Performance

Apart from risking a fight with fans, the manager also created controversy by excluding Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. But the move was justified by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and getting his first international goal.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel said. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his place.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Improvement from Defeat

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Monday, learn from their disappointing performance in the opening period.

“This is why I scheduled this game,” the manager said. “I need to see our standing. What are our ambitions? What is our identity? Today fills me with drive.”

Injury Concern for Striker

Ollie Watkins was withdrawn at the break after clattering into a post and may miss out when England face Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
